New Delhi, May 20 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs of India on May 20 informed that Over 40 countries have supplied COVID-related equipment and material to us through the Indian Red Cross Society. "A large number of countries have expressed solidarity with and support to India, in our fight against 2nd wave of COVID-19. Many of these countries, numbering over 40, have supplied COVID-related equipment and material to us through the Indian Red Cross Society," said MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.

UAE-headquartered retailer Lulu Group is looking to increase the quantum of Indian agri procurements to Rs 15,000 crore in the next two years as it expands its network globally, a top company official said on Tuesday.

"About Rs 10,000 crore imports (of agri products) we are doing every year. We are looking to increase it to Rs 15,000 crore within two years because we are also expanding our footprint in many countries," he said.
The imports primarily include commodities such as fruits, vegetables, rice, tea, sugar, spice and millets, he said, pointing out that the produce goes to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and other far-east countries.

Over 900 people, including 154 women, died by suicide in Mizoram during the past 10 years, a police officer said.
Altogether 49 people have killed themselves this year, Aizawl Superintendent of Police Rahool Alwal said.
During the observation of World Suicide Prevention Day in Aizawl on Tuesday, Alwal said that as many 948 people killed themselves between 2014 and July 2024.
Of those 948 people, men accounted 84 per cent and women 16 per cent.
The SP said that the highest number of suicide was recorded among people in the age group of 20-39 years (584 people), followed thouse in the age bracket of 40-59 years (201 people).
While 117 people who died by suicide belonged to the age group of 1-19 years, 40 were above 60 years, he said.
