PM Modi takes dig at Congress over famous '15 paise of every rupee reaches poor' remark

Ujire (Karnataka), Oct 29 (ANI): Without naming the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Narendra Modi on Sunday took a dig at the Congress party over corruption in development funds. PM Modi recalled that a former Prime Minister had said that if one rupee is sanctioned by the government, only 15 paise reaches the poor, asking which was the hand that reduced every rupee to 15 paise before reaching its beneficiary. Rajiv Gandhi had made the famous remark during the 1980's that out of every one rupee spent by the government for the welfare of the poor, only Rs 15 paise reaches them. PM Modi further added his government has decided that if Re. 1 is released from the Centre, 100 paise will reach the people.
