Special fishing ritual held in Karnataka's Mangaluru

Mangaluru (Karnataka), May 17 (ANI): As part of the 'Jatra Mahotsava' of Chelairu Kandige Dharmarasu Sri Ullaya Temple, a special fishing ritual was observed in Karnataka's Mangaluru. The special fishing ritual held at Kandige Nandini River at Mangaluru on May 15. Hundreds of people gathered to participate in the annual fish-catching festival. The enthusiasm of the participants, who came from different communities, was high as they caught different varieties of fish to mark the occasion. The fish caught during the festival is prepared as a dish and served to the deity and 'daivaradhane' rituals are performed. While speaking to ANI, one of the participants, George D'souza said, "It was a special day and joyful occasion for all."
