Tabrez Ansari lynching case: Family demands CBI probe

Seraikela Kharsawan (Jharkhand), Sep 11 (ANI): Over two months since 24-year-old Tabrez Ansari was beaten up by mobs in Jharkhand's Seraikela Kharsawan district for alleged robbery, the state police has dropped murder charges under IPC Section 302 in the chargesheet filed against the 11 accused in the case. In July, 11 people were arrested for brutally assaulting Tabrez Ansari, forcing him to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' in a video that was circulated online. He was thrashed on the allegations of bike theft and was made to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Jai Hanuman'. While speaking to ANI, SP of Seraikela Kharsawan Karthik S said, "Chargesheet has been filed against 11 accused, murder case could not be made based on the findings of the postmortem report. We have chargesheeted it as culpable homicide."
