Madhesis announce 11-day protest plan

Kathmandu, Dec 19 (ANI): The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has announced 11-day protest program from December 20 to December 30. UDMF leaders said that they plan to intensify their agitation to include the burning of the Constitution Amendment Bill which they dubbed as inadequate. Front coordinator Mahanta Thakur announced that any future talks should be held in the Madhes region. The front said they will not allow any government or official programmes, including the movement of ministers in their areas. The new protest programme also includes holding protest rallies and assemblies, and obstructing government representatives from visiting the Terai region, which is largely inhabited by Madhesis.
