Madhesis oppose local elections by raising black flags

Kathmandu, Nepal, June 1 (ANI): A large number of protesters in Birgunj city joins anti-election rally as they demanded amendment in the constitution before the second phase of local elections.The protesters on motorcycles were holding black flags as they expressed their anger against the government.The protest was held under the aegis of Nepal Jan Adhikaar forum. Nepal's government postponed the second phase of local elections after the country's Muslim minority community voiced concern over clashing of the poll date with Ramzan.The Cabinet meeting has formally decided to hold the second phase of local level elections on 28 June. The second phase of local elections was scheduled to be held on 14 June.
