PM Modi underlined UK's importance as partner despite Brexit: MEA

Hangzhou (China), Sep 05 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup on Monday informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Britain's new Prime Minister Theresa May for the first time, and held discussions on enhancing bilateral ties in the aftermath of the UK's decision to exit the EU. Swarup said that PM Modi emphasised on UK remaining an important partner despite Brexit, adding that efforts should be made to develop stronger ties and enhance cooperation. Swarup said that Prime Minister had invited UK PM to India, which she cordially accepted.
