A part of the urban constituency of Srinagar, Chanapora faces a unique set of challenges compared to its rural counterparts. The NC has fielded Mushtaq Guroo, while the PDP's candidate is Mohammed Iqbal Trumboo. Hilal Ahmad Wani is representing the BJP, and Apni Party’s Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari is also in the race. The Congress, aligning with the National Conference, has opted not to nominate a candidate for the seat. The constituency will go to polls in the second phase of the Assembly elections, scheduled for September 25.
