India has moved from women-centric development to women-led development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Smriti Irani and Hardeep Singh Puri said here on Monday. Speaking after inaugurating the Women Leadership or WeLead Lounge here on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, Irani said it gives her immense satisfaction to see this lounge and a huge Indian presence on the main Promenade street of Davos. The lounge has been set up by her Women and Child Development Ministry in association with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and industry chamber CII. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has asserted that the state is witnessing accelerated development, with government initiatives fueling the growth. Pedestrian-friendly roads, smart classes, parks for disabled children, cycling tracks, an intelligent traffic system and rejuvenating water bodies are some of the projects undertaken by authorities in Chennai to transform it under the Smart Cities Mission, according to officials. The Delhi government has proposed the 'Industrial and Economic Development Policy 202333' to create a knowledge-based economy through high-tech industrial development and services sector and make the national capital a "24-hour city". Industries department officials on Saturday said that comments have been invited from the shareholders on the policy white paper till November 20. The proposed policy envisions making Delhi a globally competitive urban economy through the promotion of night economy, plug-and-play facilities, startups and new economic activities. The mission of the government through the policy will be to promote the services sector and knowledge-based economy, hi-tech industrial and economic development, stated the white paper. The policy objectives will be implemented in a timely and transparent manner while creating an accountable governance mechanism. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated development projects worth more than Rs 26,000 crore in poll-bound Chhattisgarh, where he said the dream of a developed Bharat will be realised only when all states, districts and villages become developed. Maha CM announces Rs 45,000 cr package for development of Marathwada

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday announced a package of Rs 45,000 crore for the development of Marathwada region in the state. Apart from this, he also announced revised administrative sanctions for irrigation projects worth Rs 14,000 crore. He made the announcements at a press conference here after a special meeting of the state cabinet. The state government held the cabinet meeting in the city on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Marathwada Liberation Day, also known as Marathwada Mukti Sangram Din, celebrated on September 17 annually. Marathwada was once a part of the Nizam-ruled Hyderabad kingdom. It was after a gap of seven years that a meeting of the state cabinet was held in Marathwada. The last such meeting was organised in the region in 2016. The Marathwada region comprises eight districts - Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (previously known as Aurangabad), Dharashiv (previously known as Osmanabad), Jalna, Beed, Latur, Nanded, Hingoli and Parbhani.
