AWL Agri aims over 10% revenue growth in FY26 on strong food demand

AWL Agri Business Ltd, which sells cooking oils and other food items, is expecting more than 10 per cent growth in its revenue this fiscal against Rs 63,672.24 crore in FY25 on better consumer demand, a top company official said. AWL Agri Business Ltd, formerly Adani Wilmar Ltd, sells edible oils and food products under the Fortune brand. Recently, the company acquired two big brands, Kohinoor and Tops. In an interview with PTI, AWL Agri Business Ltd Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Angshu Mallick said the revenue of the edible oil business and FMCG would grow in the current 2025-26 fiscal. "We did around Rs 63,000 crore last fiscal. We will surely grow more than 10 per cent in value terms," he said, replying to a query on revenue outlook, factoring in good monsoon rains and rationalisation of GST rates. Cabinet raises PMKSY outlay to ₹6,520 cr to boost food processing

The Union Cabinet on Thursday increased the budgetary outlay for the flagship scheme Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) by Rs 1,920 crore to Rs 6,520 crore to boost the food processing sector. The enhanced funds, to be provided this fiscal, will be utilised for 50 multi-product food irradiation units and 100 food testing labs. The decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "The outlay of PMKSY has been increased to Rs 6,520 crore," I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told reporters after cabinet decisions. PMKSY, launched in 2017, was extended for one more year till the end of the current 2025-26 fiscal with an allocation of Rs 4,600 crore. On Thursday, the Cabinet decided to enhance the allocation by Rs 1,920 crore to implement the 2024-25 budget announcement to set up 50 multi-product food irradiation units and 100 food testing labs. Mexico's new president announced a new agriculture plan Tuesday that could make the country's food production and distribution look a lot more like it did in the 1980s, when meals in Mexico were dominated by tortillas, beans, instant coffee and cheap hot chocolate. Four decades ago, the ingredients for those meals were often bought at government stores that stocked a few basic goods. President Claudia Sheinbaum pledged Tuesday to revive those often shabby, limited government stores and continue efforts to achieve food sovereignty. The domestic food market is expected to grow by over 47 per cent to reach USD 1,274 billion by 2027, a report released by the Confederation of Indian Industry and supported by Danfoss India said. Wheat output may touch record 114 mn tonnes in 2023-24 provided normal temp

Wheat production is expected to touch a new record of 114 million tonnes in the ongoing 2023-34 crop year on higher coverage and provided weather conditions remain normal, a top food ministry official said on Wednesday. The last leg of sowing of wheat, the main rabi (winter) crop, is underway and will continue till next week. Till last week, wheat was planted in 320.54 lakh hectares, as per the official data. Wheat production stood at a record 110.55 million tonnes in the 2022-23 crop year (July-June), compared to 107.7 million tonnes achieved in the previous year. "We expect that total area under cultivation of wheat will increase this year and God willingly if the climate is alright the production will be 114 million tonne that's what the agriculture ministry has indicated informally to us," Food Corporation of India (FCI) Chairman and Managing Director Ashok K Meena told reporters.
