Akhilesh Yadav inducted people facing criminal charges, alleges Ghanshyam Lodhi

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 17 (ANI): Former Samajwadi Party MLC Ghanshyam Singh Lodhi slammed SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and alleged that he has inducted people who have criminal cases against them. “Samajwadi Party says something else and does something else. SP has been in power four times, but they never worked for the development of OBCs,” said Ghyanshyam. He also alleged that the party chief Akhilesh Yadav has inducted people who have criminal cases against them without giving a thought. The loyalists of the party weren’t given respect after induction of the new ones from different parties, he said.

Mamata's injury occurred due to security lapses: Rajnath Singh

Onboard, Mar 16 (ANI): Speaking on Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee's leg injury, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on March 16 said her accident occurred due to security lapses as per reports probed by agencies. "No one levelled allegations except Mamata didi. Reports of probe agencies and observers stated that the accident occurred due to security lapses. I hope she recovers soon. But it's a result of her desperation that she's accusing BJP for her injury," he said. "Her allegations hold no importance. We have run the govt from 2014 till now under PM Modi's leadership. People have supported us. We got more number of seats in second term. Had we not run govt properly then we wouldn't have achieved such majority in 2019 polls," he added. Few days back, CM Mamata got injured during the roadshow from Nandigram constituency.

Mamata Banerjee promises doorstep delivery of ration in Bengal during poll rally

Purulia (West Bengal), Mar 15 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has returned to the campaign trail for the upcoming assembly elections after suffering a leg injury during a public event in Nandigram last week. Addressing a public rally in Purulia on a wheelchair, Banerjee expressed confidence of retaining power in the state, and said the government after May will deliver ration to people's doorstep. Eight-phase assembly elections in West Bengal will start from March 27. Counting of votes is scheduled for May 02.

Rahul Gandhi 'expects' Mani Shankar Aiyar to apologise to PM Modi for 'neech aadmi'remark

New Delhi, Dec 07 (ANI): After Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar sparked controversy by calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a 'neech aadmi'(low-level person), Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi stated that he expect Aiyar to apologise for what he said. Gandhi took to his twitter handle and posted, "BJP and PM routinely use filthy language to attack Congress party. Congress has a different culture and heritage. I do not appreciate the tone and language used by Mr Mani Shankar Aiyer to address the PM. Both the Congress and I expect him to apologise for what he said". Aiyar's comments were in apparent response to PM Narendra Modi subtly attacking Jawaharlal Nehru at a rally in Gujarat earlier today.

Bharuch (Gujarat), Dec 03 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday, said the Congress Party opposes the BJP just for 'sake of opposing'. Quoting example of bullet train's proposal, the Prime Minister alleged that Congress is envious of BJP as it could not take up this initiative. Rahul Gandhi visits Somnath Temple ahead of election rally

Patan (Gujarat), Nov 29 (ANI): Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi visited the famous Somnath Temple and offered his prayers in Gujarat's Patan on Wednesday. Gandhi, who made the visit ahead of his rally in Amreli, also paid tribute to Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The temple is believed to be the first among the 12 jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva. The Congress Vice President has been campaigning extensively in the poll-bound state. Giant balloon in Vadodara to remind citizens to vote

Vadodara (Gujarat), Nov 22 (ANI): Local administration in poll-bound Vadodara state hoisted a giant balloon atop a government building as part of an election awareness campaign. The balloon, mentioning the date of elections - December 14 and reading "Vote Vadodara", is the Election Commission's way of constantly reminding the residents to exercise their right to franchise. District collector of Vadodara, P. Bharathi, said the idea behind the initiative was to ensure that everybody votes compulsorily. Record seizure of cash, liquor, drugs, metals in UP polls' 2nd phase: EC

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): After voting for second phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly polls ended on Wednesday evening, the Election Commission (EC) revealed that a record seizure of cash, liquor, drugs and several precious metals was carried out across the constituencies. Deputy Election Commissioner Vijay Dev said that cash worth Rs. 16.52 Crores, 3.29 Lakh litres liquor, 1.9 Kgs gold and drugs worth Rs. 1.16 Crores, were recovered. He added that strict action was taken against a number of trouble makers. 65.5 per cent of voting was recorded till 5 p.m. across 67 assembly constituencies in 11 districts of the politically important state.

UP Polls: Voting ends for second phase with over 65 percent voter turnout

Uttar Pradesh, Feb 15 (ANI): Voting for the second phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections in 67 constituencies across 15 districts has come to an end with over 65 percent voter turnout. Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Bharatiya Janata Party are the main contenders in the state. The voter turnout for the first phase was 64.2 percent.
