Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand), Apr 02 (ANI): Senior citizens residing in far flung area of Uttarakashi are forced to walk for 8 kilometres to get the COVID vaccine jab from the health centre. The route is risky for the elderly people as they have to cross raw trails which are life threatening. Locals have expressed their anger on the poor health management in the district. COVID-19 vaccination is underway across country. Union Health Ministry reported that a total of 6,87,89,138 vaccinations have been inoculated till date.
Lucknow (UP), Apr 01 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad informed about the current situation of the state in regard to COVID-19 virus. He said that the state has witnessed 2,600 new active cases in last 24 hours, whereas total active cases stands at 11,918. He informed that total 5,99,045 have been recovered till date. Maharashtra is the state which is contributing maximum number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
New Delhi, Apr 01 (ANI): Director (Information and Publicity) of Railway Board RD Bajpai expressed his happiness over breakage of all previous records and said he is grateful that the railways had achieved highest ever loading breaking all the records. "Indian Railways had achieved highest ever loading breaking all records. In the financial year of 2020-21, total loading was 1232.63 million tonnes while it was 1209.32 in financial year 2019-20, which is 1.93% higher compared to last year's loading for the same period. New Delhi, Apr 01 (ANI): As temperature is soaring, heat waves have gripped several states in the northern India. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heat wave conditions will further intensify in Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. The temperature maximum temperature recorded in Delhi was 34 degree Celsius. People are facing difficulties due to extreme hot temperature. Speaking to ANI, the scientist (DGM) in Delhi's India Meteorological Department (IMD), Dr Kuldeep Srivastava said, "For next three days, temperature will increase by 3 degrees and will reach around 37 degree Celsius by April 04".

Ganjkhwaja (Uttar Pradesh) April 1 (ANI): Trial run of electric loco between 100 km-long Ganjkhwaja in Uttar Pradesh to New Chiraila Pauthu Section under Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) has been done successfully by Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL). DFCCIL will run freight trains at the maximum speed of 100 kmph as against the current maximum speed of 75 kmph on Indian Railways tracks. The 656 km route of Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) has already opened for freight trains operation. It is expected that with fully operational DFC, heavy haul train and double stack containers operations will also increase manifold.

New Delhi, Apr 01 (ANI): Amid the second wave of COVID-19 across the country, India on April 01 reported 72,330 new cases, the highest in almost six months, in the last 24 hours. 459 people succumbed to the virus in the same period. The fresh fatalities are highest in almost five months. Total confirmed cases are 1,22,21,665 whereas the death toll has reached 1,62,927. As the pandemic is spreading its legs again, the active cases are continuously rising and have now reached 5,84,055. With 40,382 discharges, total recoveries are 1,14,74,683.
