Skipper Virat Kohli said that team India is confident and will look to set benchmark with this series. Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan was dropped and the Indian side will play with three debutants Hanuma Vihari, Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agrawal. "They have been brought in because they've done well in domestic circuit consistently.They should look at it as an opportunity and not as pressure. It is a great chance for them to cement their place and play for a long time", said Virat Kohli while addressing the mediapersons.

Sachin Tendulkar visits Mumbai School to raise awareness about cleanliness

Mumbai, Oct 01 (ANI): Sachin Tendulkar on Monday visited Pali Chimbai Upper Primary English School in Mumbai's Bandra to educate and spread awareness about importance of cleanliness among school children. Tendulkar interacted with the students and talked about the importance of cleanliness. He also cleaned the school premises along with the students. Students made collage raising awareness about clean environment. Sachin also played cricket with students and signed a cricket bat for them. Sachin Tendulkar was appointed as the brand ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014. Sachin said, "After spending time with the children, I remembered my childhood days. Today our main motive was to clean school ground."

Sachin Tendulkar flags off Mumbai Half Marathon

Mumbai, Sep 30 (ANI): Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar flagged off the third edition of Mumbai Half Marathon on Sunday morning. Around 17,000 people participated in the event. The marathon began from Jio Gardens in suburban Bandra Kurla Complex. The marathon has been certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races in association with the Athletics Federation of India. The event is organised in three categories, 10K and 5K Fun Run and 21k Half Marathon.

While speaking to mediapersons, Rohit Sharma said "Our spinners consistently bowled really well, throughout the tournament. Even today, they brought us back in the game. Their performance has been consistent in last 6-8 months, which is a positive sign. Even for fast bowlers, it wasn't easy to pick wickets."

Mary Kom to lead Indian Contingent at Women's World Championship

New Delhi, Sep 29 (ANI): Five-time world champion and Olympics bronze medallist Mary Kom will lead the Indian contingent at the AIBA World Elite Women's Boxing Championships, to be held in the national capital from November 15 to 24. Mary Kom, who will compete in the 48 kg category, will have a chance to win her sixth World Championship crown. He said, "We should not meddle in what politicians say and I strongly believe that there should not be intervention of politics and politicians in cricket." Talking about Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's statement over the cancellation of the proposed foreign minister-level talks between the two countries, Mani said, "Don't see Imran Khan's statement in isolation. Statement from India came before that, they blamed Imran Khan for the killings in Kashmir and said it's his true face. Imran Khan's statement was a reaction to that."

Asia Cup 2018: India beats Pakistan by 9 wickets

New Delhi, Sep 24 (ANI): India defeated Pakistan by 9 wickets in the ongoing Asia Cup 2018 super four match in Dubai International Stadium on Monday. India chased Pakistan by 238 runs. Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma scored centuries. Sharma made 111 runs while Dhawan scored 114. Shikhar Dhawan also won man of the match. He also scored his 26th ODI fifty in just 56 balls. With this win India has qualified for the final of Asia Cup.

Dubai (UAE), Sep 24 (ANI): Pakistan Cricket Board's chairman Ehsan Mani was hopful that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will come together. Mani stated that irrespective of the bilateral relation between India and Pakistan, the dialogue between the two cricket boards should continue. He said, "I have already had a very constructive discussion with my colleagues from India, they are here. I think we'll have a lot of common ground going forward. We all understand that whatever happened in the past has happened, we have to look forward. At end of the day, game is bigger than any one person and politicians. When India and Pakistan play, over a 100 billion ppl are watching the game from India, Pak and other countries. No one cares about politics at that stage. Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Sep 24 (ANI): Pakistan Cricket Board's Chairman Ehsan Mani firmly stated that while being the president of International Cricket Council (ICC) he always treated all countries including India fairly. He also said that it is important to maintain a balance and he has always made efforts to bilaterally solve the issues. While briefing the media, he said, "As an ICC President, I have always treated all countries including India fairly, even if any country tried to put pressure on us. I never favoured BCCI or did something unfair to them."
