Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team while Virat Kohli will skip the tournament. Indian team comprises of Rohit Sharma(C), Shikhar Dhawan (VC), KL Rahul, AT Rayudu, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, Dinesh Kartik, Kuldip Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Y Chahal, Akshay Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumra, Shardul Thakur and debutant Khaleel Ahmed, announced BCCI Secretary Amitabh Choudhary. "He is being playing continuously and keeping in mind the work load we have decided to give him (Virat Kohli) rest", said BCCI Chief Selector MSK Prasad. Jakarta (Indonesia), Aug 31 (ANI): India's men's 4 X 400m Relay team that won silver medal at the ongoing 18th Asian Games credited hard work for the achievement. One of the team player, Ayyasamy Dharun said, "I'm very happy. We were aiming for gold but couldn't win it. But it was our first time so we're happy with our performance. Sports Minister and Sports Federation supported us. For more than six months, we were preparing for Asian Games only. We went for training in three countries. We got a medal for our hard work." Another team member, Arokia Rajiv said, "The team had good spirit. We did really well in our practice session that is why we achieved this success here." The team comprised of Kunhu Muhammed, Dharunn Ayyasamy, Mohammad Anas and Arokia Rajiv which clocked 3:01.85 minutes.

The team led by Hima Das comprised of Poovamma Raju Machettira, Saritaben Laxmanbhai Gayakwad and Velluva Koroth Vismaya. This is Hima's third medal at the ongoing games. Before this victory she won silver in women's 400m and a second-place finish in 4x400m mixed relay event. The team claimed the victory after completing the race within a clock timing of 3:28.72 in the final round.

While describing her game she said, "If my first throw would not have been problematic then the competition would have been much better. My coach told me to hit the first throw and that was my aim and target. I took too much pressure and that caused up-down in performance. I'll now concentrate on Asian championship."

Silver and bronze medals weren't on our cards. We would have valued them but gold medal was much more precious, and we have done it." Calling it a big achievement, Saritaben Laxmanbhai Gayakwad said, "Today's achievement is very big. Hima Das and Poovamma Raju Machettira gave such a good lead that we were able to win. Otherwise we were very scared." Velluva Koroth Vismaya said, "I am very happy and exciting. This is our team work. As Hima led the team and Poovamma Raju Machettira maintained the lead that is why it was helpful for me to finish."

Fouaad Mirza led Indian team clinched the silver medal in the Equestrian team event at the Asian Games. The team comprising Rakesh Kumar, Ashish Malik and Jitender Singh apart from Fouaad Mirza scored 121.30. Ashish Malik, Equestrian player said, "There were lots of challenges as many countries came.
