Fouaad Mirza and his horse Seigneur Medicott finished second with a score of 26.40, behind Japan's Yoshiaki Oiwa and his horse Bart L Jra, who got 22.70.
Mumbai, Aug 26 (ANI): Rowing team received a warm welcome at the Mumbai airport on late Saturday night. They were received by the Indian Army. Indian rowers, in the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games, had clinched gold and two bronze to the country's medal tally here on August 24. The Indian men's team comprising Sawarn Singh, Dattu Bhokanal, Om Prakash and Sukhmeet Singh bagged the gold medal in the men's quadruple sculls event. The rowers clocked 6:17:13 to win the medal. Indonesia and Thailand settled for silver and bronze medals, respectively.
Jakarta (Indonesia), Aug 25 (ANI): Squash players Dipika Pallikal and Joshna Chinappa bagged bronze medals each on Saturday opening Indias account on the 7th day at the ongoing Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. Ace squash player, Dipika Pallikal settled for a bronze after losing to Malaysias Nicole David 0-3 (7-11, 9-11, 6-11) in womens singles squash. New Delhi, Aug 25 (ANI): Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal on Saturday qualified for the quarterfinals of women's singles in the ongoing 18th edition of Asian Games when she defeated Indonesia's Fitriani by 21-6, 21-14 in straight sets. The 28-year-old Hyderabad shuttler was dominant right from the beginning of the game, as she displayed a range of her attacking shots to leave Fitriani in a spot of bother. The Indonesian shuttler struggled especially in the first set as she failed to counter the impressive shots of Nehwal.
Jakarta (Indonesia), Aug 24 (ANI): Indian shooter Heena Sidhu won a bronze medal in the women's 10m Air Pistol event at the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games on Friday. The 28-year-old scored a total of 219.2 points to finish third on the podium. In the same event, India suffered a major upset as 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medalist Manu Bhaker got eliminated from the competition after finishing fifth on the points tally with a score of 176.2 points.

New Delhi, Aug 23 (ANI): Veteran India pacer Jhulan Goswami has decided to call it quits from Twenty-20 Internationals (T20Is). The announcement came less than three months before the Women's World T20 takes place in the West Indies. The 35-year-old represented India in 68 T20Is picking up 56 wickets, which included a five-wicket haul against Australia in Visakhapatnam in March 2012. She had made her T20I debut in August 2006 against England in Derby. Goswami thanked the Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) and her teammates for the support she garnered during her stint with the T20I team and wished them luck going forward.

Player from Maharashtra is currently India's number one women's singles. Raina has championed six singles at ITF Women's Circuit so far. India scored four goals in the first five minutes of the match taking a significant lead. India beat its 86-year-old record of 1932 Olympics, where they beat USA 24-1. Enthusiastic Indian supporters gathered to take pictures with the winning team's former captain, Sardara Singh, and coach post the match.
Jakarta (Indonesia), Aug 22 (ANI): Shooter Rahi Sarnobat became the first Indian woman to score gold in the history of Asian Games. Rahi Sarnobat won gold in women's 25m pistol at the Asian Games 2018 on Wednesday. She shot a total of 34 in the finals against her Thai opponent Naphaswan Yangpaiboon. Yangpaiboon claimed silver and Korean shooter Kim Minjung bagged bronze medal in the event. Rahi had won her first gold medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games held in Pune. Another Indian shooter Manu Bhaker finished at sixth position in the same event. Bhaker had won gold at Commonwealth Games 2018. India's total medal tally is at 11 with 4 golds, 3 silvers and 4 bronze medals.
New Delhi, Aug 22 (ANI): England pacer Stuart Broad has been fined 15 percent of the match fee after being found guilty of using aggressive language during the ongoing third Test match at Trent Bridge. The incident took place during a heated exchange of words between Indian debutant Rishab Pant and Broad on day 2 of the Test match. Broad has also been slammed one demerit point after being found guilty.

New Delhi, Aug 16 (ANI): Former Indian Test skipper Ajit Wadekar, who led the national team to their first-ever series victories in England and the West Indies, breathed his last at the age of 77 after a prolonged illness at the Jaslok Hospital here on Wednesday. Wadekar, who was considered as India's finest slip fielders and an aggressive left-hander, appeared in a total of 37 Tests and amassed 2,113 runs at an average of 31.07. He scored his sole century against New Zealand in 1968. He also played two One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for India, with the highest score of 67 runs against England in 1974. Wadekar was also instrumental in leading the Indian side to famous Test series triumphs against England and West Indies in 1971.
