Who is Manoj Tiwari
Manoj Tiwari is an Indian politician, actor, and singer. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has been a public representative in Delhi's political realm.
He defeated Congress’ candidate Kanhaiya Kumar in the Northeast Delhi Lok Sabha seat by over 1,38,778 votes and won the seat for the third time consecutively.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Tiwari defeated Sheila Dikshit, a Congress veteran and former Delhi chief minister, from the North East Delhi constituency by 363,000 votes. He currently has two pending criminal cases against him and possesses movable assets worth Rs 10.5 crore.

Born on February 1, 1971, Tiwari is one of the six children of Chandradev Tiwari and Lalita Devi. He comes from Atarwalia, a remote village in Bihar's Kaimur district. Manoj Tiwari completed his early education in Bihar. He graduated from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi where he finished his BA in 1992 and he also completed his Master in Physical Education in 1994 from the same university. His background, combined with his cultural roots from Bihar, became the foundation stone for his diverse career in entertainment and politics.

Emerging as a leading figure in the regional film industry, Tiwari starred in numerous successful Bhojpuri films, earning widespread recognition and acclaim. His first movie, Sasura Bada Paisawala, released in 2003, was a box office hit.

Political journey
Tiwari made his political debut in 2009, contesting the Lok Sabha elections that year from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur constituency on a Samajwadi Party ticket. He, however, lost to Yogi Adityanath.
Manoj Tiwari's political stint with the BJP began in 2013. His popularity as a singer and actor helped him quickly climb through the ranks of the party. In 2014, he was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the North East Delhi constituency, defeating his opponents by a significant margin.
In 2016, he was appointed the President of the Delhi unit of the BJP, a position he held until 2020.
