BCC, KPTCL, Escoms promote power from waste

| This was conveyed by State Power Procurement Coordination Cell director Pratap Kumar on behalf of the KPTC and Escoms at a public hearing conducted by the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) last week on converting municipal waste into power, according to a KERC press release. |
| The BCC informed the public hearing that land will be provided at nominal rates to commence production of power from waste. Bangalore generates nearly 3,000 tonnes of waste every day. |
| "The BCC has also agreed to provide capital and other basic infrastructure to project promoters," the release added. |
