RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group’s power utility CESC has posted 0.91 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 111 crore for the first quarter of the fiscal ended on June 30, against Rs 110 crore during the same period last fiscal.
However, the Kolkata-based firm net sales for the period zoomed 8 per cent to Rs 1,169 crore, as against Rs 1,082 crore during the first quarter of the financial year 2009-10.
“The profit remained at the same level of last year due to increase in fuel prices in February this year ,” said Sanjiv Goenka, CESC vice-chairman.
