Rajiv Merchant, CEO (domestic business division), Creative Portico, said from being non-existent, the market for children's home textiles had suddenly shot up in the state. Nearly 20-25 per cent of the company's business now comes from this segment.
Mostly sourced from Asian countries, the company is seeing a spurt in sales of animated towels, bedsheets, pillow covers, comforters and curtains in the state.
"The home textiles market for children is poised to touch a three-digit figure," added Merchant. Bedding accounts for 30 per cent of the company's revenues while pillow covers and towels contribute 10 per cent each. The remaining comes from bedsheets.
