N Padmakumar, national creative director at Rediffusion Y&R, has called it a day after two years with the agency. He had joined Rediffusion from sister agency Everest Brand Solutions, where he was for four years.

Padmakumar came in at a time when Rediffusion had seen significant churn at the top with the exit of group CEO Mahesh Chauhan. D Rajappa, president of Everest, had replaced Chauhan at that time. The movement of Padmakumar from Everest to Rediffusion was viewed as logical step since he had worked closely with Rajappa at Everest.

In the last two years, Rajappa and Padmakumar have aftempted to stabilise operations at Rediffusion, which saw loss of business in Airtel and Colgate. Rediffusion currently does work for clients such MTS, LG and Amway besides some Tata group businesses among others. Everest, on other hand, is managed by veteran adman and former JWT-hand Dhunji Wadia. Rediffusion also has a few alliances including one with Edelman in public relations, Wunderman in direct marketing and Havas group-owned MPG for media.
