Thailand's Covid-19 cases increased by 12,353 to 1,561,638 during the past 24 hours, the country's Center for COVID-19 Administration (CCSA) reported Sunday.
Some 125 coronavirus-related deaths were recorded on Sunday, taking the cumulative fatalities to 16,268, according to the CCSA, the country's COVID-19 task force.

Goa's coronavirus caseload went up by 74 to reach 1,76,095 on Sunday, a health department official said.
The death toll reached 3,303 as four patients succumbed to the infection during the day, he said.

West Bengal's Covid-19 tally rose to 15,66,393 on Sunday as 748 more people tested positive for the infection, while nine fresh fatalities pushed the state's coronavirus death toll to 18,736, a health bulletin said.
The metropolis registered the highest number of new cases at 139, followed by 118 in neighbouring North 24 Parganas district.

Karnataka has reported 775 new cases of COVID-19 and 9 deaths, taking the total number of infections to 29.73 lakh and toll to 37,726, the health department said on Sunday.
The day also saw 860 discharges, taking the total number of recoveries in the state so far to 29,22,427.

Maharashtra on Sunday reported 3,206 new coronavirus positive cases and 36 fatalities while 3,292 patients recovered, the health department said.
The new additions pushed the tally of infections in Maharashtra to 65,44,325 and the death toll to 1,38,870. The total number of recoveries in Maharashtra stands at 63,64,027 which leaves the state with 37,860 active cases, as per the official statement.
Maharashtra's case recovery rate now stands at 97.24 per cent and the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.

With more than 40 million doses of coronavirus vaccines available, US health authorities said they're confident there will be enough for both qualified older Americans seeking booster shots and the young children for whom initial vaccines are expected to be approved in the not-too-distant future.
The spike in demand -- expected following last week's federal recommendation on booster shots -- would be the first significant jump in months. More than 70 million Americans remain unvaccinated despite the enticement of lottery prizes, free food or gifts and pleas from exhausted health care workers as the average number of deaths per day climbed to more than 1,900 in recent weeks.

At least 73 per cent population in 12 districts of Odisha have developed antibodies against Covid-19, said Sanghamitra Pati, director of ICMR's Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) on Sunday.
On the instruction of the Odisha government, the RMRC conducted a Sero Survey in 12 districts of the state between August 29 and September 15. The surveyed districts area -- Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Khurda, Puri, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur.

The Ministry of Health and Family welfare on Sunday said 53.5 per cent of people in the 18-44 age group have been inoculated with the Covid-19 vaccine.
According to the Ministry, 34,66,84,035 people in this age bracket have received at least one dose of the vaccine while 7,34,36,483 have received both the doses.
In the age group of 45-59 years, 28.3 per cent of people have been vaccinated which includes 15,59,65,608 people with one dose and 7,35,71,780 people with both doses.

The capital has recorded only three fatalities due to the infection in September so far.

Nashik district in Maharashtra on Sunday reported 100 fresh coronavirus positive cases, taking the tally to 4,08,078, while 113 patients recovered, health officials said.
The death toll rose to 8,624 after one patient succumbed to the COVID-19 infection, they said.

Kerala on Sunday registered 15,951 fresh COVID-19 cases and 165 deaths, which took the caseload to 46,29,915 and toll to 24,603.
The number of people who recovered from the infection since Saturday was 17,658 which brought the total recoveries to 44,41,430 and the number of active cases to 1,63,280, an official press release said.

Sikkim's COVID-19 tally rose to 31,266 on Sunday as 40 more people tested positive for the infection, while one fresh fatality pushed the Himalayan state's coronavirus death toll to 386, a health bulletin said.
East Sikkim recorded the highest number of new cases at 28, followed by 10 in West Sikkim and two in South Sikkim.

The Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) reported 20,755 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections on Sunday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the Southeast Asian country to 2,490,858.
The country's COVID-19 death toll remained at 37,405. The DOH has not updated the number of deaths since Friday due to "technical issues."

Ahead of the festival season, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged people to keep following Covid protocol and ensure that no one is left out of vaccination's "circle of safety".
In his monthly 'Mann Ki Baat' radio broadcast, the prime minister also said that common people are getting connected to digital transactions through fin-tech Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and its prevalence is increasing.
Noting that the festival season is approaching, Modi said when the whole country will celebrate 'Maryada Purshottam' Shri Ram's victory over untruth, people should also remember the fight against Covid.

Following a green light by the state government, bars in Kerala opened on Sunday, while restaurants were also allowed to begin dine-in services which were suspended since the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, restaurants and bars will be allowed to admit only 50 per cent of their capacity and without air conditioners.

Puducherry logged 78 new Covid-19 cases during the last 24 hours as the overall caseload rose to 1,26,090, a senior official of the Department of Health said on Sunday.
The union territory reported two deaths in the last 24 hours ending 10 AM Sunday as the toll increased to 1,838, Director of the Health Department G Sriramulu said in a release here.
