| Speaking to reporters outside Rajbhavan, Ananth Kumar said the unseasonal rains in the last 15 days ravaged horticulture and commercial crops worth thousands of crores of rupees in different parts of the state. |

| "Prime Minister announced a relief of Rs 500 crore after rains in Mumbai last year. On similar lines, an interim relief of Rs 1,000 crore should be announced for Karnataka," he said. |
