“The sector faces significant challenges and should be treated as an infrastructure industry for tax exemptions. The Budget should allow all expenditure related to research at in-house facility to be eligible for weighted deduction, even if these activities are carried outside the approved R&D facility. There should be adequate allocation and incentives for setting up new medical institutes and colleges.”
