The move comes after the Election Commission of India rapped the state government for preparing the electoral rolls in a haphazard manner.
"The officials concerned will visit each household to revise the voters' list. If the officials do not visit the households within 15 days, the matter should be brought to the notice of the tahsildar concerned. The names of the voters will be included in the list at the tahsildar's office," Bangalore Rural Deputy Commissioner D K Rangaswamy said in a press release.
The revision of electoral rolls is being carried out in various parts of the state. The exercise is on in Bangalore also after voters complained about their names missing from the list. The Election Commission of India, after reviewing the state electoral rolls, decided to delete 3.5 million names from the list on account of discrepancies.
It had directed the state to carry out fresh revision of the voters' list in certain areas.
