Central Bank Q3 net soars 76% to Rs 353 cr

Public sector lender Central Bank of India on Tuesday said its net profit in the December quarter grew 75.74 per cent to Rs 353.26 crore compared with Rs 201.01 crore recorded in the same quarter last financial year, the bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income rose to Rs 3,033.41 crore from Rs 2,205.48 crore a year ago. For the nine-month period ended December 31, 2008, the bank’s net profit rose 20.27 per cent to Rs 508.73 crore as against Rs 422.96 crore in the same period last year.
