Singapore-based DBS Bank said it was planning to open three more branches in India this calendar year. The bank, which started its operations in India in 1994, has seven branches now.

“Our aim is to extend the network of branches and increase customer base in India. As part of this, we are opening three new branches shortly — one each in Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh), Salem (Tamil Nadu) and Surat (Gujarat),” said Sanjiv Bhasin, chief executive officer, DBS India.

He was speaking to reporters after opening the bank’s latest branch in Nashik recently. DBS Bank’s other six branches are at Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, New Delhi and Pune.

DBS Bank, one of the largest financial services groups in Asia, has operations spanning across 16 countries, including China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Taiwan.
