Rs 716 cr Nabard loan to AP

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 716.34 crore to Andhra Pradesh, out of the Rs 1,056-crore normative allocation under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF)-XVII, for 16 minor irrigation, 219 rural roads, 58 bridges and 33 rural water supply projects.
An RIDF loan of Rs 198.02 crore has been sanctioned for 33 comprehensive protected water supply projects, envisaging supply of safe drinking water to 844 habitations in 14 districts of the state, while Rs 40.14 crore has been sanctioned for 16 irrigation projects in Adilabad, YSR Kadapa, Nalgonda, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts.These projects, on completion, would provide irrigation to 3,454 hectare and recurring employment of 1,036 mandays and non-recurring employment of 1.13 million mandays.
In a press release today, Nabard said 219 rural roads with an RIDF loan of Rs 343.28 crore in 22 districts and 58 bridge projects with an RIDF loan of Rs 134.70 crore in 17 districts were also sanctioned.
