UTI Bank to have more branches in north India

| "At present we have 85 branches in the northern region covering Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. We have plans to open 15 more branches in the northern region in this fiscal in order to consolidate our position," UTI Bank Senior Vice-President (Northern Zone) R K Bammi said here today. |
| UTI Bank today opened two new branches in the Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur districts, taking the total number of branches in Punjab to 23. The bank will open one more branch in the state by the end of this fiscal. Bammi said in Punjab the bank would concentrate on agricultural lending and for this purpose it was widening its reach to the farming sector by opening more rural branches in the state. |
| "Currently, we have 8 rural branches in Punjab and plan to open one more rural branch at the Samana village in Patiala district in this financial year," he said. |
| UTI bank has a network of 308 branches with 94 extension counters and 1,799 atms across the country. The branches are spread across more than 229 cities and towns. |
