Balanced Scorecard Collaborative (BSCol), the professional service organisation offering customised advisory and training services, will launch its Indian operations in tie-up with CustomerLab Solutions.

Balanced Scorecard Collaborative India will help Indian companies to use, enhance and integrate the balanced scorecard as a value-added management process. BSCol India will also help organisations to successfully execute strategies for enhancing competitiveness.

The founder and chairman of Balanced Scorecard Inc, Robert S Kaplan, will launch the Indian operations on February 15 in Delhi. He will also address a seminar on "execution as competitive advantage: new strategies for the information age".

Kaplan said, "If Indian companies want to move beyond getting business by offering cheaper prices than the rest of the world, then managers must determine a competitive strategy and implement it effectively. The balanced scorecard system provides the guidelines for strategy development and deployment. So, it will be a critical tool for Indian companies."

BSCol will function through CustomerLab Solutions' offices in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and New Delhi. CustomerLab Solutions, which has six consultants, will bring 50-60 more consultants, to meet the demands of its expanding operations.

The balanced scorecard mechanism is used to align senior managers to evolving strategies for new product introductions, services and partnerships with upstream suppliers and downstream distributors and end users.

Introduced in 1992, Balanced Scorecard is well established in North America, Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. More than 60 per cent of the companies in US and EU report using the balanced scorecard.

In his seminar on new strategies for the information age, he will address the new thinking on resource and time driven activity based costing, the troubles with strategies and the process of strategy mapping, new frameworks for creating value from human capital and other intangible assets.

He will also elaborate on new approaches of strategic performance management with an insight into best practices from many esteemed organisations, including companies like AT&T, BMW, Brown & Root, Canon, Daimler Chrysler, Cigna, Charlotte, Dupont, Hilton, Mobil, Motorola, Saatchi & Saatchi, Siemens, Wells Fargo and Volvofinans.

Muhamed Muneer, CEO - CustomerLab Solutions, India, said, "Balanced scorecard platform will offer focused strategic implementation opportunities to Indian organisations, open new vistas to compete with organisations across boundaries. And, it will also be able to offer numerous Indian companies with the audit of their current BSC practices and correct course in the right way."
