M Rammohan Rao, dean of the Indian School of Business (ISB), has been elected to the board of directors of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) for a period of three years, effective July 1, 2007.
 
Rao is the first Indian business school dean to be named to this prestigious body. GMAC is the provider of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), used worldwide to assess applicants to graduate management education programmes.
 
The ISB is also a member of the council's group of governing schools.
