Edible oil imports in November-June was up 27 per cent year-on-year at 30.62 lakh tonne, according to the data released today by the Solvent Extractors' Association of India.
 
The rise in import of crude edible oils continues at the cost of refined ones following a favourable duty structure towards the former.
 
On year, the share of refined oils in the import basket has declined to 11 per cent from last year's 19 per cent, while that of crude has risen to 89 per cent from 81 per cent last year.
 
In November-June, imports of crude oils were seen at 27.22 lakh tonne and that of refined at 3.40 lakh tonne.
