Gold futures prices today rose by Rs 41 to Rs 29,937 per 10 grams as speculators enlarged their positions in tandem with a firm global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October rose by Rs 41, or 0.14%, to Rs 29,937 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 4,031 lots.

December gold edged up by Rs 39, or 0.13%, to Rs 30,275 per 10 grams in 133 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in gold futures to a firm global trend.

Meanwhile, gold gained 0.4% to $1,618.80 an ounce, the highest since July 31 in Singapore.
