Sonata Software, Datamatics Global hit 52-week highs on heavy volumes

Saksoft, HCL Infosystems, Trigyn Techno, D-Link, Take Solutions, Mastek and Ramco Systems were up 2% - 6% on BSE.

Shares of information technology (IT) companies – Sonata Software and Datamatics Global Services – have rallied up to 14% and hitting their respective 52-week highs on the BSE in intra-day trade.

Sonata Software has rallied about 7% to Rs 196, extending its past two trading days 7% gain on the BSE after the announced that it has been granted a patent for enabling users to be notified across web, SMS, email and in-app push notifications.

The patent was granted for a key technology innovation in the Halosys mobility platform, which the Bengaluru-based company got through an acquisition that enables users based on events matching a pre-configured set of filters including the user’s location, time of day, along with the data from the event’s object graph, Sonata Software said in a release.

Datamatics Global Services has surged 14% to 111 on back of an over three-fold jump in trading volumes. A combined 3.43 million shares have already changed hands till 11:37 am, against an average sub one million shares that were traded daily in past two weeks on the BSE and NSE.

Since November 11, 2016, post July-September (Q2FY17) results, the stock outperformed the market by gaining 40% as compared to 1.4% decline in the S&P BSE Sensex.

Datamatics Global Services had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2.11 crore in Q2FY17 against profit of Rs 45 lakh in Q2FY16.

Saksoft, HCL Infosystems, Trigyn Technologies, D-Link (India), Take Solutions, Smartlink Network Systems, Ramco Systems and Mastek are among others from the mid and small-sized IT companies trading higher by up to 6% in otherwise weak market. The S&P BSE Sensex was down 0.22% at 26,430.
