Tata Motors gains post August sales numbers
Total sales grew 12% at 71,826 units in August 2012 over the previous year
Tata Motors is trading higher by 2.1% at Rs 239, on reporting 12% year-on-year rise in total sales at 71,826 units in August this year. The Tata Group company had sold total 64,078 vehicles in the same month of previous year.
“The company's domestic sales of commercial and passenger vehicles for the month grew by 13%to 67,453 units against 59,874 units in August last year,” Tata Motors said in a press release.
The stock opened at Rs 237 and a combined 80,000 shares have changed hands on the counter in opening deals on both the exchanges.
