At least 11 people have been killed and 30 others wounded after a massive fire broke out at Karachi's Regent Plaza hotel in wee hours of Monday, rescue officials said.
The fire which broke out in the kitchen located at the ground floor of the hotel spread to the six floor of the building trapping many hotel guests in their rooms.
An operation was started by the fire brigade to rescue the guests.
The Dawn quoted Faisal Edhi of the Edhi Foundation as saying that the fire-fighters were able to contain the fire after three hours, with 11 people having been killed.
The rescue operation is underway as some people are still reportedly trapped inside the hotel.
