Sahara Group founder and chairman Subrata Roy has been placed in police custody till March 4, and is being held in a guest house of the Uttar Pradesh forest department on the outskirts of Lucknow city.
Roy is supposed to be produced before the Supreme Court by 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
A Lucknow CJM court reserved its order to keep Roy in police custody till March 4 yesterday, after Roy was produced before the court.
Roy had surrendered before the Lucknow police and had said that he respected the procedure of law and did not have any problem with it.
Roy's legal counsel Ram Jethmalani had confirmed that his client has surrendered before the police. Roy will remain in police custody till March 4.
