7 transferred in Tripura for poll code violation
The EC had conducted investigation against the six following complaints from the opposition Congress and decided to transfer them and debar them from poll related duties.
The officials were the district magistrate of Sipahijala and sub-divisional magistrates of Dharmanagar in Dharmanagar district, Kamalpur in Dhalai district, Jirania in West Tripura district, Sonamura in Sipahijala district, Udaipur in Gomati district and Kailasahar in Unakoti district.
Four Booth Level Officers -- three from West Tripura district and one from Dhalai district -- were suspended for dereliction of duties, the sources said.
The elections for the 60-member Tripura assembly would be held on February 14.
