73 years old man accused of murdering wife, absconding

A 73 years old man allegedly murdered his wife at Gummidivaram in Seetanagaram mandal of the district in the early hours today, police said.
Both the accused P Appalaraju (73) and his wife P Satyavathi (65) begged in the village to earn their living and had had a quarrel last night.
The couple's nephew saw Satyavathi lying in a pool of blood when he went to their house this morning.
Police sub-inspector B Laskhman Rao said the accused, who was mentally ill, was absconding. A case of murder has been registered.
