Base metals move up on sustained demand

Select copper, brass, aluminium and tin moved up at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist buying amid sustained demand from industrial users.
However, nickel and copper sheet cutting slipped on reduced offtake from consumer industries.
The industrial metals trading lower at the LME on diminishing hopes over Beijing's act of stimulus on China's economy amid slowdown in factory activity.
Copper armature and copper utensils scrap both rose by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 477 and Rs 459 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 474 and Rs 456.
Copper scrap heavy and tin edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 481 and Rs 1,567 as against Rs 479 and Rs 1,565 previously.
Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar, brass utensils scrap and aluminium utensils scrap all inched up by Re 1 each to Rs 486, 514, 351 and 127, respectively.
However, Nickel and copper sheet cutting eased by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 1,063 and Rs 470 from overnight close of Rs 1,065 and Rs 470.
