Crime branch of state police registered a case against Assistant Director of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution for Jammu rural, Dev Raj for furnishing wrong details to obtain a PRC of Jammu and Kashmir, they said.
One Sain Ahmed had alleged the official of providing wrong information to manage a government job and a PRC.
As per the allegations, Dev Raj did not belong to Jammu and Kashmir and his forefathers had no property or any other proof of being a permanent residence of the state.
During the course of inquiry, it came to fore that Dev Raj's father was basically from West Pakistan and after independence he alongwith his family shifted to Jalandhar in Punjab, police said.
