Most parts of Himachal Pradesh witnessed heavy rains as the Monsoon arrived in the hill state in time, the meteorological department said today.
The Monsoon has reached the state on time. The usual date of arrival of the Monsoon here is June 25, and a week earlier or later is considered its normal arrival time, the director of the Meteorological Centre in Shimla, Manmohan Singh, said.
The state capital received 36.4 mm of rains, followed by 52 mm in Sujanpur Tira and 55 mm in Palampur of Kangra district.
The MeT department said that Monsoon would remain active in the state till the last week of September.
The weatherman has forecast heavy rains in most parts of Himachal Pradesh tomorrow and very heavy rains on June 29 and 30.
