The 29-year-old is already the guardian of a tigress, named Durga, from the same zoo last year.
Chopra, 29, sent Rs two lakh to the Zoo authorities a couple of days ago, expressing a desire to adopt a lioness.
"We got the draft from Priyanka Chopra for her desire to adopt a lion species. But her aunt says Priyanka would like to continue adopting Durga. We are not yet clear. Only after getting another letter we would be able to say whether the adoption is for Sundari or for Durga," Zoo Director P K Verma said.
Verma said the money, which she has sent, is for a period of one year.
