After claiming responsibility for Sunday's Wagah blast and also threatening Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter, Ehsanullah Ehsan, self-styled spoksperson of the breakaway faction of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan terror group, has disappeared from the micro-blogging site.
The Twitter handle used by the Ehsan "@EhsanTTPJA" was no longer available on the site today and a possible intervention by central security agencies could be the reason that it was taken off.
Official sources said Twitter was approached by central security agencies for information about the account that was used to issue the threats.
After taking all cyber evidence, Twitter is understood to have decided to shut Ehsan's account.
When contacted, spokesperson for the micro-blogging site Raheel Khursheed declined to comment. "Twitter does not comment on any individual accounts," he said.
A search on the micro-blogging site showed another account in the name of Ehsanullah Ehsan with "@ehsanullah_ttp" as Twitter handle. However, it was created in February this year and operated till April with only 26 tweets.
Ehsan had claimed responsibility for November two Fidayeen attack at Wagah in which more than 60 people were killed.
The group had warned that India was the next target.
