Speaking at a rally in the presence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh he said it was unfortunate people say that when BJP comes to power Hindus "become uncontrollable".
"Our party's government came to power in an area where Hindus and Muslims had never clashed before...Within two months of coming to power (of BJP) there was tension in Mewat.
"But Hindus did not do this against Muslims. On the contrary, Muslims thrashed Hindus. The shame is upon us for not being able to prevent it. And those Muslims, who fought jointly fought with us in 1857 and were ready to make Bahadur Shah Zafar sit on Delhi's throne, what is the reason behind the current circumstances," he said.
He said he had already placed the demand for an RAF unit or a training centre to the Home Minister to prevent such fissures between the two communities in future and that the decision to set up any such camp will have to be political and not bureaucratic.
Later, Rajnath assured he will surely make arrangements for stationing up an RAF battalion in the area, while appealing for inter-religious peace for the country's development.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has also promised that a recruitment centre will come up in the next one month, Rajnath told Singh in the rally, amid cheers from the crowd.
