Youth arrested for attempting to muder Cong MLA

The youth identified as Sanjib Deb was caught last night at 10 p m from near the stage by Congress workers, who recovered a 'dao' (sharp knife) from him and handed him over to the police.

He was arrested and charged for attempting to murder the Congress MLA and produced in the sub-divisional judicial magistrate court today which remanded him to police custody for five days.

The MLA later in a press conference today alleged that it was a 'conspiracy of ruling CPI-M' and the truth would come out after investigation.
