Shadab, who worked at a private company in Noida, was run over by the truck at around 11.30 pm last night, police said.
He was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. After establishing the identity of the deceased, his family members were informed, a police official said.
The locals and family members blocked the traffic on Mathura road after a rumour got spread that the police was not registering FIR and was trying to cover up the incident.
The protest was called off after senior police officers of South East Delhi police assured the mob that an FIR was registered and that action will be taken against the driver.
