The Rover group is planning to launch the 'Discovery RS' four-wheel drive with BMW's collaborator Hero Motors.

The multinational has also decided to snap its technical and licensing tie-up with the Bangalore-based Sipani Automobiles to manufacture the 'Montego' passenger car.

The nine-seater, five-door model will be priced between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh and will be fired by both a diesel two-litre and a 2.5-litre engines.

Rover is conducting studies to look at the market response for the four-wheel drive and is expected to finalise the launch very soon.

Ken James, director (sales), Rover group, said: We have narrowed our choice on the 'Discovery RS' model. We will price it at around Rs 15 to Rs 20 lakh which is a market were at the moment their are no products available.

Rover, which has been taken over by German automobile major BMW, initially made an entry into the country through a technical and licensing tie- up with Sipani Automobiles.
