Metro Status For Ludhiana

Ludhiana might be declared a metropolitan city. The municipal corporation has already passed a resolution to this effect and has sent in application to the government of Punjab and also to the Government of India.

"Ludhiana is the fastest expanding city in the country. The growth in the decade is more than 100 per cent, so, it definitely makes sense for the city to be declared a metropolitan and we hope this happens soon," said Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana.
