It has reported a profit of Rs 39.43 crore on a turnover of Rs 402 crore in 1995-96.
The rise in turnover was 10 per cent over 1994-95, when it stood at Rs 362 crore. Net profits in 1995-96 represented a 5 per cent growth over Rs 37.56 crore the previous year.
Foreign exchange repatriation in 1995-96 worked out to a record Rs 40.37 crore, as against Rs 22.86 crore the previous year. TCIL has been awarded export house status and received a ISO 9001 certification.
Among the contracts completed by TCIL in 1995-96 were a $36-million (Rs 125 crore) order in Yemen, a $23-million (Rs 80 crore) contract in Indonesia and a $22-million (Rs 76 crore) works contract in Sri Lanka.
Other countries in which TCIL has ongoing contracts include Syria and Kuwait.
