Human resources pool without proper skills to solve problems and communicate effectively can be a threat to IT workforce and industries to leave the country, National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) Director (Education Initiative) Sandhya Chintala warned.

Addressing the valedictory of Finishing School-2007 at the National Institute of Technology-Karnataka, she said IT and IT-enabled services would require a workforce of 2.3.million by 2010. The country had produced 1.6 million professionals during the past 15 years and had a huge task to produce another 0.8 million workforce in the next two years," she added.

Sandhya Chintala said, the task at hand was even more daunting considering that not all 3.1 million graduates passing out from institutions in the country were employable.
